La Petite Maison's Cocktail – The Method

WThis is an easy interpretation of a cocktail from a new cocktail list. It's a batch pre-mixed that is bursting with flavours of the holiday season, making it excellent for hosting a holiday party. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup to use in morning drinks, desserts, or to mix another batch of this cocktail.

The Bikini Cocktail

Serves 10 servings

To make the Clementine Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

Ingredients for the Cocktail (makes 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml premium vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Whole cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Instructions

Making the Citrus Syrup: Place the listed items inside a pot, bring to a simmer, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Then, remove from the stove allowing it to reach room temperature entirely. Transfer into an sterilised bottle, close it and refrigerate it in the fridge, where it will keep for about one month.

Preparing the Cocktail Base: Mix the specified liquids in a large bottle, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then pass it through , ideally through muslin, so it's completely strained.

For serving: Pour 85ml from the cocktail base to a cocktail shaker containing ice, gently stirring gently for about 60 seconds until cold. Filter into a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, top with a few cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of the essential oil over the top.
